Leather Bliss

Latest favorite vintage find! Guess which piece?

Shirt:  H&M  Yellow tee: Target  Studded Skirt:  Vintage Vakko (80's?)  Necklace/Shoes:  F21

Yeah, you guessed. It's the skirt. The latest love of my life!  Not only is it current and timeless to me, but it's like butter.  Of course, as usual, I have problems with fit because I basically have no hips and trust me it's not a great thing in case you were thinking that it i;)

Anyhow, thought I'd share this little piece of joy with you.  You all know how it feels when you score something special..feels soo good!  Oh, and especially if it only sets you back a whopping $7.99:))

New Blood

I'm working on freshening up my wardrobe with some new pieces for the upcoming season.  It's not that I really need anything but you know when you get tired of looking at the same things over and over.  That's where I am now.  Time to purge and renew.

I bought a simple cotton yellow sweater from H&M and ethnic print pants.  I'm also beginning to purchase with an idea of an outfit in mind, or incorporating the pieces into my existing wardrobe.  Yeah, I know that's really basic but I'm just now getting that point.  It makes picking out what you're going to wear so much easier and less time consuming.

Here are the pants and sweater together.

Top and pants:  H&M  Shoes: Zara (thrifted)   Bag:  Vintage thrifted  Jewelry: F21

This look could be dressed up for work of going out or dressed down for casual days.  I just feel that I need to really organize my closet and wardrobe finally.  You can't appreciate what you have if you can't see it!

I'm really on a mission to update my blog regularly from now on.  My next post will be my recent thrift store haul and ways to style vintage pieces with current trends.  Check back with me soon for that one.  Thanks for stopping by!

Striped Bass

Shirt:  Ralph Lauren   Shorts:  diy cutoffs   Shoes:  Nine West    Accessories:  All vintage

Fishing is on my mind, therefore the fish reference in my title.  Just so happens I was wearing stripes before going fishing with my sons.

What is it about stripes that has most of us drawn to this classic pattern?  I don't really know, but I love the effect of stripes when paired with denim and fun accessories.  Then again, I also love stripes done with a very prim, proper, professional look.  Either way, it all works out for the best most of the time.

On another note, I think I may be finally getting better with my lighting, although my face is very shadowy here, but a definite improvement from my other photos.  I still have to get a camera upgrade though.

Check you out soon:)

Today's a Good Day

Shirt:  Lace vintage   Shorts:  H&M  Shoes:  DKNY   Bag & Belt:  Vintage

This handbag is becoming a permanent fixture in my everyday look.   I get sooo many compliments on it every time I carry it and I swear is unbreakable! It's been manhandled for about two years and even involved my kids using it to collect tomatoes from our garden out back, hehe:))  I think I'll do some checking online to see if I can find something similar for those of you who may like it.  I'll get back to you shortly to let you know if I had any success.

Anyway, you need to hurry on down to H&M and grab up some cute goodies before they're gone.  For some reason, my store had loads of good stuff but, unfortunately, my size was a little scant.  If you're size 6 or up you may hit the jackpot though.  These shorts here are a size 4 and still too roomy on me, so I believe these are running a size larger, so these may fit you perfectly if you're a six.  I just scruched them together and added some little loops on the side for the belt and they'll do just fine for now.  Girl's got to made do.  They're supposed to be loose and swingy anyhow.

Gotta go now but I'll be sure to check you guys out later on.  I'm having a fantastic day! Hope you have an awesome one yourself:D

Cool Mix Up

Dress:  H&M   Bag:  Thrifted   Shoes:  Nine West   Jewelry:  misc. vintage beads/bangles

I don't know about the weather where you are, but it's hot as the dickens here on the east coast.  Well, it is summer so that's to be expected at least, but it seems unusually hot now.

I chose this turquoise sun dress from H&M in my efforts to stay cool.  It just so happens that this cloth sack style bag goes pretty well with the pattern of the dress.  I love to mix patterns so this was right up my alley.  I went with loads of jewelry, beaded, silver bangles..just threw everything at it.

Well, I better run off to the store now.  Momma's gotta feed the chillins.  See ya:))

Going Nowhere Fast!

Dress:  Francesca's  Shoes:  Bamboo  Bag:  Vintage

I know you've had one of those days when you thought you were going somewhere, got all dressed up and excited and then...haha nope, CANCELLED!

My husband and I thought we were going on a "date" finally but my youngest came down with a wicked sore throat, so plans were postponed.  He'll be okay, but of course, the little ones come first.  I got over it:)

Anyhow, do you have a Francesca's in your area?  It's a clothing store that I believe is pretty new to my area.  Well, go check it out if you haven't already.  Really cute things there.  The store is small and boutique-like which I'm really feeling right now.  You feel like you getting something one of a kind there, which actually you are since I noticed they don't carry large numbers of the same style. I snagged this dress there for a whopping $15!!  I bet you wouldn't have passed that up, right?  Oh, and they didn't tell me to say that.

BTW, please excuse my VERY less than perfect photography.  My son needs a little more practice and I didn't want to break his heart by not posting them.  It was 90 degrees out and there are child labor laws, you know.

I would love to hear any recommendations on a new camera.  I'm looonng overdue for an upgrade and I know that's the first step to improving my blog.  I don't know where all my motivation's coming from lately, but I'm ready to move forward or get out of the way:D

Water's Cold!!

This post really has nothing to do with literal water.  It's just that I feel like I'm dipping my toe into a cold swimming pool right now.  It's been soooo long and I have to ease back gradually but on second thought, I think it's better to just jump right into the cold water and get the discomfort over with in one shot.  Well, here's my big plunge back into the blogging pool!

Haha, well I've missed my online fun but it's also comforting to know that my family and work life are in order and, as you would agree, those things are first and foremost in our lives.  I have a new part time job, my husband and kids are doing well so now I feel that I'm in the position to spend time on my passion at last.

Shirt:  Vintage lace    Skirt:  F21   Shoes:  Target

I've been leaning toward an ultra feminine look for this season and no doubt Target and Forever 21 has been hitting it big with this look.  I don't have to break the bank either, really reasonably priced.

Check back for some reworked vintage!  Catch ya soon:))
